Hi guys. I'm really familiar with Gene and his other show he has. I've been listening and participating in the forums for years now. But I'm new here. In the early 80's, I got my first Apple product. A Apple IIC. I specifically got it to run a BBS system. This was a major upgrade as my computer's before this were a C-64 and Commodore Amiga. In addition to the Apple IIC, I had a ProAPP 20 MB hard drive (almost unheard of at the time). I ran Greg Shafer's GBBS Pro software. I also utilized a U.S. Robotic's Courier HST modem (9600 baud). After I outgrew the IIC I got a IIGS. I also upgraded to a Chinook 40 MB hard drive & was still running GBBS Pro.

I got back into Apple around 2005 with a desktop. Since then, I've had a plethora of iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, etc.

The pre internet days of BBS's were very exciting and fun. Anyone else here run a BBS? Or call them? It'd be fun to hear what hardware & software you used to either call or run a BBS.

Cheeers :)
