On Wednesday afternoon, December 1st (Arizona time), our Web server was offline for nearly three hours. According to the datacenter, "There was power supply issue. Protection mechanism trigged. So we needed to remove power from the server and plug it back. After your server booted normally."
Unfortunately, the datacenter and the host are many miles apart, so they had to get someone on the scene to do the manual labor, and suddenly, we're just one of thousands of servers, and these things take time.
At least they were able to install some critical security updates at the same time, so perhaps we'll be less vulnerable to possible attack.
