iBook dual screen

I've been using my G4 iBook with an extended desktop with this firmware patch for about a year now. I use my iBook LDC for my palettes and my 21" CRT for my photoshop/illustrator canvas.

One thing that was mentioned was that it could void the Apple warranty. I just don't see why that would be so, it's a firmware patch and I tested it with a complete reinstall on a clients iBook and it was removed.

My warranty was void a few days after I got my iBook. All my warranties are void. I tend to get my hands into my Macs and make them do what Apple doesn't want them to do. The machines are capable of extended desktops but Apple seems to limit this in the firmware. I guess that was one of the perks in shelling out a little more for the powerbooks.

Anyway...if you have an iBook, iMac or eMac and would love to run non mirrored desktop with a second monitor try this patch.

Please do this at your own risk and if you really don't need an extended desktop, then it's probably not worth it.
