So this is what it's like over here...

Creepy Green Light

Technology Novice
Hello. I've been listening to the other half of Gene's world at The Paracast since around 2011. I've also had a Apple consistently since around 1984. First with an Apple IIC. Then an Apple IIGS. I used run a BBS (Bulletin Board System). Back then, I had the only hard drive available for the Apple IIC. It was called a ProAPP. It came in 10 MB or 20 MB versions. Cost was around $999 for the 10 MB. I also had a USRobotics Courier HST modem (9600) baud. Retail for that was also $999 but you could pick one up out of Computer Shopper magazine for around $640 or so. I also remember buying an Applied Engineering 1.5MB RAM expansion card for the IIGS. Those were fun, exciting times. Running a BBS on Greg Shafer's "GBBS Pro" software. Having hard drives, etc.

I look forward to hearing the next episode!
