Most Web servers are powered by an open-source application, Apache. A somewhat smaller number use some sort of Windows server. Being on the cutting edge, as of today, we're trying something called Nginx. Thus we join "nearly 6.55% (13.5M) of all domains worldwide."
Supposedly this means our sites will run faster, use less server resources, and offer greater security from Internet criminals.
If you want to know what all of this means, check this site:
Nginx Wiki
It's an experiment, involving minimal cost (a few cents a day), but if it turns out to cause problems, we'll return to Apache.
Of course, most of you probably don't really care.
